Spring 2018 Design Intern

We are looking for a creative graphic design intern for the Spring 2018 semester. We are looking for someone who has up-to-date design knowledge and can create design solutions with high visual impact. If you believe in working hard, telling stories, creating outstanding designs, and staying curious, you'll fit right in. You will work with our team and a project lead on a variety of products, including logos, websites, magazines, product packaging, brand identity etc. The goal is to understand and visually communicate our clients’ story and be passionate in the work that we do. This is a $10/hr part-time position. 

Responsibilities

  • Be A Good Listener – Take the design “brief” from the design lead to create outstanding design
  • Be Creative – Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite
  • Be A Problem Solver – Ability to problem-solve design and new media challenges
  • Be Unique – Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts.
  • Think Big – Maintain high design standards and design on a national level
  • Show Your Work – Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas
  • Show Integrity – Take initiative and do what is right
  • Accept Critique – Amend final designs to design lead's comments and gain full approval
  • Be A Team Player – Work as part of a team with copywriters, designers, executives, etc. and always go the extra mile

Requirements

  • Proven graphic designing experience
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills that is exhibited in a portfolio
  • Strong ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Up to date with leading design trends and innovations
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (i.e. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Highly proficient in all aspects of design (typography, layout, etc.)
  • Professionalism regarding time-management and deadlines
  • Hand Lettering and Illustration (not required, but preferred)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Must have a computer equipped with Adobe CS6 or higher
  • Minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Duration is from beginning of January through end of May
